Food Politics

Being a foodie and an Oregonian, I couldn't help but feel that a page for food matters suits this blog nicely. I believe that good food is an art, and so my attention has increasingly focused on the artisans - and corporations - who are responsible for the production of our food.

Long story short, what began as an extension of my armchair-nutritionist expertise has become an urgent interest in food politics; or, awareness and advocacy for safe farming practices in the US. I say 'urgent' and I mean it - you literally wouldn't believe what you're eating, how easily corporations get away with it, and how little the USDA and FDA do to ensure a safe, sustainable food chain.
